An Inconvenient Truth

Recent quotes:

"You don't go see Joseph Goebbels' films to see the truth about Nazi Germany. You don't go see Al Gore's films to see the truth about global warming."
--Sterling Burnett, DaySide, Fox News, May 23, 2006.

"Gore believed in global warming almost as much as Hitler believed there was something wrong with the Jews."
--Bill Gray, as quoted in The Washington Post Magazine, May 28, 2006.

My response:
"Gore believed in global warming almost as much as Einstein believed in the Theory of Relativity or almost as much as Galileo believed in the Copernican System (that the planets revolved around the sun instead of the sun revolvind around the earth.) This is apparently as much as Hitler believed there was something wrong with the Jews according to Bill Gray.

Bill! The difference is there actually is a Theory of Relativity and likewise an Inconvenient Truth. Despite the Vatican's 17th Century strong-arm tactics, the Copernican theory turned out to be true. The same cannot be said for something being wrong with the Jews. "

To Bill Gray and Sterling Burnett: Grow up! These idiotic comments are the political equivalent of "Na na na na boo boo". Insulting the messenger does not make the message any less true.

And what is it about Republicans in office these days? Quit threatening us with bogeymen like Gay Marriage. Americans have had six years to grow up under this Inconvenient President and it's not been pretty. We've had a rough passage and we don't realistically see it letting up until someone smart is elected in '08. I don't think even diehard Conservative Republicans are buying your bullshit. It's awfully hard to be worried about Larry and Steve when you're not sure how you're going to afford driving your kids to soccer on the weekend.

Get involved

Tell Al Gore thanks for putting the word out. While this particular drive is being drivin by the Dems, what they say on the website is correct. Global Warming isn't and shouldn't be a political issue.

Okay. I'm off the pulpit.
