on Emmitt Smith.
Emmitt is the all time leading rusher in the NFL. He played for the Dallas Cowboys. I used to love watching him on the football field because he made running through huge offensive lines with a football look effortless and well, ballet-like. You don't normally think of a football player as graceful, or at least I don't, but that's what Emmitt was.
It looks like he's got skills off the field too. As he competes in ABC's Dancing with the Stars, not only is it is obvious that he is a fantastic dancer, but the very second you see him onstage he just oozes charisma and charm. Joey Lawrence and Mario Lopez may be the energetic younguns, but Emmit is the person on the show with whom I'd most like to dance.
I don't think I'm alone. In addition to the millions of viewers of DWTS, it looks like both Emmitt's dance partner Cheryl Burke and Judge Carrie Ann Inaba were bit by the Emmitt bug.
Cheryl really lucked out. You get a sense that the folks at ABC might have put her with the season's sports persona because she partnered the winner last season and the sports guys aren't typically considered to be able to go the distance. Imagine her surprise when she discovered she was partnered with Emmitt.
So if you see Emmitt Smith or happen to know him, can you ask him a question for me?
